About Me
Hi! I'm Yuvraj
I'm a design engineer from Loughborough with a knack for turning technical projects into production-ready reality.
Building cool stuff has been in my DNA since I was a child.
While I could talk for hours about the mathematics of G3 curvature continuity or the importance of impedance matching, what I love most is building cool stuff.
What that means is: Pushing the boundaries. Devising solutions that solve a real problem for real people, enabled by cutting-edge technology, like ultra-wide band radio or a self-designed record-breaking microcontroller board. Designing products that embody reparability and sustainability. Exploring new and innovative media.
Oh, and making sure the aesthetics are great through all of this.
I stand by these principles beyond my design work:
Since 2021, I have been operating a technology repair service at near-cost with the sole mission of proving the average person can perform common repairs on their own devices. I've repaired iPhones, Samsung Galaxies, MacBooks, and more.
I have always loved exploring new technology. I operate my own homelab, where I experiment with local LLM AI, home automation, personal cloud, and personal overlay VPNs. In fact, STRXCT was born out of a need to make a lightweight, portable homelab for taking with me while I lived in Loughborough.
And I am a firm believer in the statement 'knowledge is power'; I have worked in secondary education and e-learning, even working as a teacher at a top IB school. To this day, I tutor GCSE and A-Level Computer Science and Design. My sole mission in these roles was the empowerment of all students; it brings me great joy to see a student 'jailbreak' out of their own doubt and achieve something they never knew was possible. This drive for empowerment and my learnings from observing D&T students was the basis for my final year project, Imaginary Parts, a product aimed at significantly reducing the barrier to entry for makers and beginners.
